  16. Hamview started life as a quick way to display the current repeater
  17. list.  Then I added a list of cixen radio hams. Then a list
  18. of packet radio BBSs (and why not).

  20. Oh the Find command in the menu is CASE SENSITIVE. Try looking for
  21. the string 'DX' in the packetbbs list for example.

  26. INSTALLATION.
  27. 1- You need VBRUN300.DLL  (widely available) in c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ (not supplied)
  28. 2- Put THREED.VBX (unless you have a later version) in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\
  29. 3- Put the  *.HVW files in C:\HAMVIEW\  (sorry, they have to go there)
  30. 4- Put HAMVIEW.EXE anywhere (but c:\HAMVIEW is tidy)

  32. Either click on HAMVIEW.EXE from file manager, or install
  33. an icon in Program manager for hamview.exe
  34.  
  35. HOW TO USE
  36. The small 'available lists' box (top right) should contain four
  37. names corresponding to amateur radio cixen, 2m and 70cm repeaters
  38. and packet bbss.

  40. Click one of the names, and the itmes in the list appear in the larger
  41. box bottom right.  Click the first entry to place all the items on
  42. the UK map (this is visually entertaining but not very clear to look
  43. at).  Once displayed you can click each item on the map, or in the
  44. list to examine the contents.
